Lettering Style Challenge 2025

October 2025 was all about lettering again, and honestly, it was such a fun month.

Throughout the month, the Lettering Style Challenge brought together so many artists, all creating and posting daily lettering pieces using the prompt list below. Thirty-one days of drawing letters, trying new ideas, and seeing where our lettering takes us.

What the Challenge Is About

The idea behind the challenge is simple: practice consistently, improve your skills, and get a little closer to your own lettering style along the way. No pressure to be perfect, you just have to show up and make the work.

How It Works

Each day comes with a prompt to kick-start your ideas. You can use any medium you like, experiment as much as you want, and interpret the prompts in your own way. The only real “rule” is to follow the prompt list and have fun with it.

My Theme for 2025

This year, I followed a theme inspired by music. I loved the idea of turning song titles into visual experiences, so each piece was about capturing a feeling, a mood, or an emotion through lettering. I focused on colour, texture, and movement, trying to make each artwork feel immersive and sensory.

What I Took From It

This challenge always helps me discover new ideas and techniques, and 2025 was no exception. It’s such a good reminder of how much you can learn just by practising regularly and creating the kind of work you actually enjoy making.

I’m always blown away by everyone who joins in, seeing so many different interpretations of the same prompts is one of my favourite parts of the challenge.
